For a Professional Digital Content Promotion course, I developed a website for my mock company, Good Talk. I developed Good Talk's name, concept, brand identity, target audiences, and online channels.
I included this to demonstrate my ability to develop a brand and create a website. It also shows my interest in a wide variety of communication subjects, including interpersonal communication, which Good Talk focuses on.
I serve as chair of the communications committee on the board of Saskatoon Sexual Health, a non-profit in Saskatoon, Canada. They are launching a capital campaign to raise funds for a larger space and expanded capacity, and I designed this campaign website to attract donations.
The simple website displays my persuasive copy writing and web design skills, as well as my passion for accessible health care.
In tandem with Saskatoon Sexual Health's capital campaign website, I created a 1-minute video to promote on social media. This video explains the organization's mission, work, and why a new space is needed. It allows viewers to see visuals of the staff, programs, and buildings.
This sample demonstrates my ability to conceptualize, film, and edit a video. I used a Canon EOS 1200D and edited in Adobe Premiere.
For the Media Content Creation and Promotion course, I learned the basics of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and Audition. Using Audition I created a podcast based on my communications role with BoTree Seasonings. The short audio offers an interesting introduction to the real reason salt and pepper are found virtually everywhere.
This audio shows my ability to come up with a podcast concept, write and record a script, edit audio clips, and tell a compelling story.
As BoTree's communications specialist for almost two years, I've written countless blog posts about their products, accolades, and recipes. But writing about their farm on the coast of southern Cambodia, a place of so much history and provenance, always felt special.
